I’m a forty year old happily married mum of two energetic boys. I work part time for an aromatherapy firm and find myself torn between cleaning and writing on my days off. I have two miniature wire haired dachshunds and one cat. My hobbies are reading, writing, cycling, walking, family and friends. In an ever-changing world I am grateful to have a steady faith in God.
The book I am showcasing on this blog is a short novel called ‘W.S.’ I hope to reach an audience of young readers who want to get lost in books but find reading hard work! ‘W.S.’ is a big story in a short book.
‘W.S.’ is aimed at 9 + and while humorous, it covers two very topical and sensitive subjects; obesity and bullying.
I welcome your comments and feedback – both parents’ and children!
I am available to visit schools and youth groups and would enjoy sharing the ups and downs of writing.
I remain grateful to a friend Liz Jackson MBE from Great Guns Marketing: a wonderful lady who inspired me to stop being a ‘nearly’ person!
Fantastic!
Brilliant story so far Jane – loving it so far! Amy
Have just pre-ordered the book from Amazon! Will you sign it for me?
fab!!!!!!
Hello,
I am assistant head at Romsey primary School. I understand you recently met our headteacher in Lymington.
Would you be available to come and talk to the children in our assembly on any of the following dates at 10.30.
We would love you to come.
Yours sincerely,
vanessa
Could you e-mail me to organise a school visit if that is ok? You can phone the school. Can we also have a book sent to the school if possible so we can make prep? Wicor Primary, Hampshire. Happy to pay for the book if you invoice us or we can pay for it when we see you.
Thanks,
Gemma
I met you in water stones and you encouraged me to carry on with my stories, well i did. I’ve made the book but its not all finished yet. WS is a very funny book. When i found out what WS stood for i was quite shocked, i didn’t think that its would stand for what it was. i would definitely read this again and show it to my friends. I hope you create another story like it.

I like your new ‘references’ page.
I think it would be neat if you would write a bit about the school visits and book signings you do for your blog followers and fans…a bit about the highlights, the activities, the discussion.
I think it would keep your readers connected.

Love your words – “big story in a short book.” We have something in common. Blessings to you and your wonderful work!

Hi Jane,
I thought it was an outstanding book – both in terms of writing style and message. It would be a great entrant for The Times Children’s Fiction Competition – ticks all boxes – check out:- http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/public/competitions/article2961368.ece
